Susan Heath Dudley, age 94, passed away at Friendship Village of Dublin on February 5, 2026. She was born on April 28, 1931, in Fort Wayne, Indiana to Hobart and Mary (Spencer) Heath.
Sue graduated from Cuyahoga Falls High School in 1949 and from The Ohio State University in 1953, where she was a member of Alpha Xi Delta. On August 23, 1953, she married David Barker Dudley. They celebrated 71 years of marriage before Dave passed away last summer.
She worked as a public school teacher in Chicago and Columbus from 1953 – 1955. From 1964 to 1989 she served as the accounts receivable manager for L. K. Baker and Company. She was a devoted PTA and Band Parent volunteer during the years that her daughters were in school. She enjoyed working with the Alpha Xi Delta Alumnae Association, was active with the Grandview Civic Welfare Club, and she was a member of PEO, serving in several leadership positions including chapter president. As a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Marble Cliff she volunteered in the Sunday School Office and for many years she and Dave were loyal offering counters.
Susan was preceded in death by her husband David. She is survived by daughters Karen (David) Nevergall and Ann (James) Millar, grandchildren Michael (Rachel) Nevergall, John (Emily) Nevergall, Erin (Alan) Barber, and Laura Millar, and great-grandchildren Caroline, Elliott and Leo Nevergall and Kayleigh and Josephine Barber.
A memorial service will be held at Chapel B, Union Cemetery, 3349 Olentangy River Road, at 11:00 am on Monday, February 16, 2026 with visitation proceeding from 10:30 to 11:00 am. Sue’s family would like to thank the caregivers from Capital City Hospice and the wonderful staff at Friendship Village for their care and kindness. Memorials may be given in Sue’s memory to the Grandview Heights Public Library or donor’s choice.
